Are Jem rosewood fretboards are finished with clearcoat or lacquer?

I read rosewood can be smelly and more to stink when used by others, especially if you buy it used, you're likely to get a stinky rosewood fretboard than a maple one that has lacquer or clearcoat

Rosewood, when freshly cut smells of roses...

I've not had any smell issues due to the fretboards on any of my guitars, and no, Ibanez rosewood boards are not finished with anything like a hard lacquer or clearcoat.
