jem template

Hi guys,

Im looking to start my own jem project and I found a blueprint of a JEM777 off this forum. I was trying to scale it up and print it off and stick the papers together to make the template but I dont know how much to scale it up by. I tried 150% and it was slightly too big. Was wondering if anybody has used this as a template and if so how did you do it?

Thanks guys.

ps. I dont have 10 or more posts so cant submit links so im hoping some of you are familiar with the blueprint im on about ;p

Re: jem template

Just use the rulers function in Photoshop. The blueprint tells you the the exact dimensions, you just need to make sure the scaling in Photoshop is correct. The blueprint on here is slightly undersized, I can tell you that.

Re: jem template

Thanks for your help guys. I did find some to buy on ebay and other sites but waaay to expensive for what is just a piece of cardboard. But I worked using photoshop how much to scale it by. So for anyone whos interested, I opened it in paint and scaled by 140% and printed and worked fine.

Cheers.

That actually isn't correct. The image would print the body to be 430mm from the bottom to the top. This dimension should be 451.7mm. That ratio is what you should be scaling the image by. It works out to just above 105%.

Re: jem template

Its worked for me. I just checked and its pretty much bang on. You can check yourself. Use these steps and see if it works.

1. Open file in Paint
2. Go File->Print->Print Preview
3. Select Page Setup
4. Set to Landscape
5. Click 'Adjust to' button and put it to 140
6. Select ok and then you have it

You can double check this by simply getting a tape measure and measusing the dimensions roughly off your moniter. Then print and stick carefully together.

Re: jem template

I did check it out---doesn't line up. As Jesse mentioned--you need to scale by ratio. It's best to do this in Photoshop, not Paint--more accurate results all around. Be lieve me, Jesse and I have a few Jems to compare the results to...

Re: jem template

sorry I forgot an important thing to mention. When in Print set up make sure its landscaped and not portrait. I will try with photoshop too, im sure its much more accurate as you say and I will compare results.

Re: jem template

Your printer is likely compressing the image in some way.

Rob, speaking of Photoshop, check your mail.

Be careful. Your monitor may not be set to give absolutely correct values in terms of measurements.
