JEM and UV1000 weight & dimensions for shipping

Hey guys,I need yer help real quick.I'm selling my BSB on ebaY(buyer pays EXACT shipping) and I need to know the weight and dimensions(mainly the weight,I have a tape measure!) of a UV1000 case containing a JEM guitar.I figured since everyone on here does a lot of buying/selling/trading and therefor a lot of shipping with these instruments someone here will know the answer. Thanks in advance.I love you guys!

typically, in a shipping box, the dimensions are

43.75" x 17" x 6.75" and weighs about 15 pounds. (8.08kg's)

Anyway, that's what all of the ones I ship work out to.

15 pounds?! maybe in a molded case with no padding in the box!

Just a note: Go directly to UPS! Do not use Mailboxes etc. or something similar. $65 vs. $18... I hate Mailboxes etc!!!

weight&dimensions

Good point Gabe. You're right about the price,I just got done comparing. But check this out...UPS is about $30 more expensive than FedEx for the same package, origin, weight, dimensions and destination! That's almost twice as much. Not to mention the fact that UPS has quite a reputation for damaging packages.
I REALLY appreciate eveyone's input, you have all been enormously helpful. However,I think the question has been answered and I think that in respect to the server that hosts JEMSITE we should all end discussion on the topic to save space on the harddrive. I would ask if you guys agree but that would only invoke further responses.
Thanks again everyone. No get out there and help me find that 7VWH!

FedEx Ground is usually only slightly cheaper, and add at least 2 days to the delivery time. If you don't think they damage as many [if not more] than UPS think again, and try to get a claim paid by FedEx, especially if it's an expensive claim!

Rich, how much should it weigh???

here is how I pack

Guitar in UV1000C, inside a heavy weight cardboard Gibson shipping box (I get the free from the local store)
I wrap 3 layers of bubble wrap around the case, then use some more bubble wrap to build standoff's between the case and box. there is approximately 2" of space between the case and box. The empty space gets filled with shipping peanuts. Then all closed up and taped.

At the post office, it weights in at 8.08KG's, (maybe my conversion was wrong, I hate metric) but due to the size of the box, is supposed to weigh 15KG's, so either way, I'm safe.

PMC in UV1000 [it was handy to drop on the scale] 22.5 pounds. Add at least a couple pounds for the box and padding. When I do calcs I typically figure at 26 pounds basswood 28 pounds mahogony [for US shipping I quit doing calcs altogether unless it's a faster service option, I just set regional pricing, saves me alot of work ]
