I haven't totally decided what the stem is, I'm sure it's probably a plastic as well. Though, in the green vines, it almost looks like a piece of bubinga.

At any rate, you can use basically anything you want. I really like the look of spruce, and in the chrome vine, I use metal.

It's open to the imagination, but I would venture to say the Jem vines are plastic.

I believe the vine stems are wood. Though, I'm not sure what kind.

If you look very closely at the green vines, the stem is 2 pieces of something laminated together. There is a definite seam down the center, this is what leads me to believe it is a plastic and not a wood. I do know for certain the 555 is plastic hehehe.

my 77FP: the stem is laminated wood, I guess. On my 10th, it is the same material as the binding of the neck.

why is it that the parts of the stem that you run your fingers over a lot fade just a tad....just a tad....if they are wood or plastic?

I've actually pulled the stem on a FP neck now, they are plastic.
