JEM555 Refinished (a lot of PHOTOS)

Ok, after spending some months in the process of giving a new dress to my beloved 555 I'm finally come to THE END. After a lot of modifications (scalloping of the last frets, LoProEdge, split of evolution pickups) now this guitar can seriously compete with the big sister 7V.

Here's some photos of the whole process...

First of all I stripped the paint away:

then the veener was applied:

then a blue staining:

and so the long painting phase started with a thin transparent coat:

the the black sunburst:

The final result:

Here is a pic of my 3 guitars, all customized following my personal tastes:

I'M WAITING FOR YOUR COMMENTS ;-)

...AND A BIG CIAO FROM ITALY FOOTBALL CHAMPION OF THE WORLD ;-) ;-)

nice pimp-my-guitar custom job. got an FP and was thinking of buying a cheap RG and having it modded. thanx for the pix and enjoy your unique jem.

Wow, good job. That bridge is crazy-forward though.

Re: JEM555 Refinished (a lot of PHOTOS)

looks awesome but im not diggin the pickguard mod ya did.. I think it would look 100% better with the original pickguard design.

Awesome job.

Great Job!!! Too bad the headstock isn't done the same way, like ibanez249 said, the trem is insanely forward

i think it's not the trem being forward, rather the pickguard cut too near the trem's front edge.

Ciao MIGI ;-)

the photo in which the trem seems to be raised up was done when the strings were not tensioned, the trem was only put into the hole to make a photo, I didn't put the knobs too ;-)

The last photo with the other guitars is of the guitar totally finished and setted. I'm looking for a new pickguard here in Italy (maybe Nuno can help me) but it's a though challenge...

hm... Italia is not the best place for these kind of stuff. you better take a look at e.bay USA, there's plenty of ppl selling custom pickguards.

Re: JEM555 Refinished (a lot of PHOTOS)

I like the blue but the pickguard has to go as well as the white headstock..

Re: JEM555 Refinished (a lot of PHOTOS)

The pickguard reminds me of a musicman silhouette. Interesting design none the less. Its not my cup of tea, but it is good work.
