Re: Jem555's Bridge Modification

first off i love my 555 and would not trade it for a 7v. the sound is great and the only prob i had was the trem. now my 555 is setup with a edge pro trem and a backstop. the guitar plays awsome and is my main axe with my rg 570 as a back-up guitar. i like the half vine inlay it makes it look different than the 5 million 7v's i see all the time. feels awsome and sounds great for under 1k.

Re: Jem555's Bridge Modification

I just installed a LoPro Edge on my 555. You basically just have to drill the 7/16 holes for the LoPro inserts (which are bigger than the TRS') and make sure the inserts go in all the way, otherwise the action will be very high (I found out the hard way). Also make sure the sides of the trem clear the edges of the rout (which mine did not, but I sanded them down and re-painted).

Che ck here for more info:

Hope this helps

Re: Jem555's Bridge Modification

It would really be nice with photos

Actually, a little construction on a guitar sounds scary...How about pick up an "EDGE" bridge for replacing?

Re: Jem555's Bridge Modification

I'll snap a few pics tonight. I'm actually waiting for a replacement trem stud which I managed to break by banging the damned inserts in (i know, i know stupidity takes over some times ) But even with the broken stud, the LoPro plays extremely well. Keeps its tune. I just haven't played it much since I'm worried I may harm the LoPro.

BTW I had my RG's Edge in it before. But I refinished the RG and had to return the Edge.

Re: Jem555's Bridge Modification

Edges are indeed nice, but I'm becoming a LoPro fan very quickly. I'll post the pics later today.

Re: Jem555's Bridge Modification

Yeah, I debated the color for a while, but the 555 hardware is cosmo, so I went with that. For the most part it does look dark, the last picture is more like the color. I just took the pics with it reflecting light so you could see the trem better. I just need my s-series ZR trem in chrome and I'll be set!!
