Jem77BRMR alternatives

Hello all
After reading about the finish cracks in the jem77, ive wondered about what could be an alternative to it. I know the 7DBK is a good one, but its discontinued. What to do you guys think could be a good alternative that is still produced to this day? Maybe a jem7vwh whith a pickup change to breeds?
Im asking this because the jem77 was my dream guitar and now my dreams are shatterred lol

Re: Jem77BRMR alternatives

a DBK is discontinued. And im looking for guitars that are still in production because there are very few jems in my country and i doubt that there is a DBK. Im getting a guitar when i travel hopefully in 6 months-year time. And i wont have time to search for used guitars then. Anyways im just posting this to feed my curiousity since ive been having a REALLY BAD case of GAS lately

Btw i think the DBK looks better than the 77brmr, so if i do find one, im not getting it chromed. I dont really care about the looks tho now

Re: Jem77BRMR alternatives

I have had my BRMR for almost a year now and play it daily, and still have not seen any finish cracks or scratches..

Re: Jem77BRMR alternatives

DBK is pretty easy to get hold of globally, and they are damn nice guitars

Re: Jem77BRMR alternatives

Ibanez249, you have OFFICIALLY added the DBK to my lust list. im pretty sure im not gonna get any sleep tonight trying to think about which guitar i should dream about when i do sleep

johliatay, ive only read about one jem cracking so far, but with the weather, pressure and humidity changing every 2 days, and the abuse im gonna put the guitar through, mine will probably crack

Re: Jem77BRMR alternatives

lol I hope you get one. They aren't that expensive as far as Jems go either. They only thing I did notice that appeared to be different to most other Jems was that ther fretboard is quite wide, but that could just be me.

Either way, the DBK is basically a black BRMR anyway so you could get one and then decide on the chroming.

Re: Jem77BRMR alternatives

I just wish they were still produced. It doesnt feel as good as buying a new guitar. Still, a 7dbk is probably the only guitar i would buy used now. If it was in a near-new condition
Anyways back to the original question, do u guys know if there are any alternatives to the 77brmr still being produced?

Re: Jem77BRMR alternatives

Not really. Sorry to keep going back to the DBKs, but keep checking on them because a lot of shops still have "New old stock." Basically a new guitar that was never bought. Either that, or try Rich at Ibanez Rules ^banner above^

Re: Jem77BRMR alternatives

the DBK really is a beautiful guitar, even if it is cheaper than the other jems. I was lucky enough a couple of months ago to find a store that had one still brand new on the wall, he said its been there for a couple years. Of all the Ibanez i have, the DBK is one of my favorites.

Re: Jem77BRMR alternatives

DBK it is, then Since its relatively cheaper, i might be able to get it sooner. If i find one. If i cant, ill just save up for a 77brmr
