JEM77BRMR "Bad Horsie" durability

Well I played one this weekend at my local shop. They had just gotten it in, and I played it for a couple of hours. The finish seemed really durable. As I was playing it, a lot of people came by and wanted to take a look, and it passed through a lot of hands and only showed fingerprints. I did not try to abuse it, but I did test the finish by rubbing heavily with my fingernail and guitar pick, and no scratches showed up. Once I was done playing it, the sales person cleaned off the fingerprints it with his t-shirt, and it did not show any signs of those fine rub scratches that you see on highly polished guitars.

Re: JEM77BRMR "Bad Horsie" durability

Thanks for the info. It's nice to read some input by someone who has ACTUALLY held and played one. Unlike all the other bozos who've made comments based on heresay, speculation, and ignorance.

How's the 5-piece neck feel ?

Thanks again for the report !

The neck felt great. I have to say that I preferred the feel of the five piece neck more than the others I have held.

I don't know if their really is that much of a difference, but I looked great and felt smooth in my hand.

LOL,, that's border line abuse right there man! That's something I would probably try but never confess to. I mean hey if you going to buy one, you gotta make sure right? God knows you wouldn't want to try it if you owned it....

That neck looks awesome,, I'm stoked to try one now. However if I try one then I will probably end up getting G.A.S. and have to sell everything to get one.

Re: JEM77BRMR "Bad Horsie" durability

A friend of mine who works at the music store I used to work for said that they had received one. It was so soon after NAMM I thought he was mistaken. Believe it or not, it's been over a week, I still haven't run down there to check it out. I;m gonna have to make the extra trip.

I'm still wondering if the curvature of the top of the body will want to relax over time at the contour area and separate from the body if the glue dries out.
