JEM77DY FADING ISSUES

Hi people,

My 88 Jem 77DY has arrived...very happy...it hasn't faded at all mainly because the previous owner did not use it much.

I wanted to place it on my guitar stand in my living room but was worried that it would start to fade and dull (as some other DY's I've seen)...would this pose a problem

Shouls I always put it back in it's case each evening after playing?

Would love some info, many thanks, Max (London, UK)

...i heard about sk fading, but no dy...anyway there could be problem if it would be directly exposed to the sun light...i don't think there should be problem if not

Not faded, darkened. Funky clearcoat batch I've seen before.

DY doesn't fade, although I'm sure with enough UV exposure [and I don't mean kissing up to your 7BK] any color will wash out. Reds are what fade which is why pink fades.

The pickups of course will fade.

Yup, I'll never buy a pink car again, sorry, that should read, I'll never buy a red car again.

"DY doesn't fade, although I'm sure with enough UV....."

Why are so many DYs faded then even though their owners claim that they were not exposed to sunlight...? I've never seen a faded guitar before the DY...(and SK)

I guess I have to say again, everything will fade with enough UV exposure!

Flash combined with the fact many cameras don't reproduce yellows well [or reds for that matter].
