Talking JEM77PMC Swirled Like They Should Have Been!

Hi Jemsters!

I had the idea for this swirl about two years ago.
Michael over a Livewire Guitars did a great job of bringing it to fruition.

Originally I was going to put Purple Pickups in it.
When I set them in the body, it looked to dark.
I think the Green did the trick!

Here’s the rundown on what parts were used.

Ibanez RG570 Neck Upgraded with Green and Purple DNA Inlays, Purple Ibanez Logo with Neon Green JEM Logo
Replacement JEM Body made by Perle Guitars and Swirled by Livewire Guitars
Ibanez Original Edge Trem Powder Coated in Neon Green
Ibanez Tuners Powder Coated in Neon Green
Ibanez Strap Button Powder Coated in Neon Green
Ibanez Locking Nut and String Tree Powder Coated in Neon Green
Dimarzio PAF Pro F-Spaced Neck Pickup
Dimarzio Area 61 Middle Pickup
Dimarzio Gravity Storm F-Spaced Bridge Pickup
Clear H-S-H JEM Style Pickguard made by Paradise Pickguards
Ibanez Team J Craft Hardshell Case to keep her safe

came out stunning. I love seeing projects, especially when they look this good. How does the powder coated edge play? does the coating reduce any of the sustain?

It seems normal to me!

I spent a few hours playing it today.

wow, looks amazing! Did Livewire do the powder coating on the hardware? I would've thought that coating the hardware would affect functionality (e.g. fine tuners not moving properly, etc.) It is an awesome swirl and an incredible and unique guitar - congrats!!!

Re: JEM77PMC Swirled Like They Should Have Been!

Very cool, glad to see these projects finally finished! Have to admit that I don't love the powder coated hardware, but very cool project regardless.

Green pickups were definitely the way to go. I felt like I was all set on what pickups I was going to put in my swirl too. But after seeing your BMC, I'm now starting to think about white pickups!

This also reminds me, I should contact Michael and go over my swirl.

I did the powder coating myself.
I used a tap to clean out the threads for the fine tuners.

I'd do things a little differently on the tuner bodies next time.
But it all works and looks great!

WOW! The powder coat isn't my thing aesthetically but from a workmanship standpoint I have to take my hat off to how you did it. Amazing job!
Killer guitar in general!

That is awesome. Most custom JEMs I don't like, but that is special.
