Re: JEM7VWH and JEM7DBK

the vwh is made of alder, the dbk of basswood. Vwh has evo's, whereas the dbk has the breeds. vwh has the vine of life inlay, dbk has screw heads. the dbk has a durable textured finish, vwh is a plain white. the vwh has a jem neck profile, annnd thedbkhas a wizard type neck. So basically, summed up, the dbk will have a warrmer, vinntage sound, and will be more versitile for different genres of music. and the Vwh Just screams notes, and will be snappier. asfor thenecks, ilike jem prrofile better, but its all personal taste.

I didn't try the DBK plugged in an amp. but immediate thing I noticed is the neck is thinner than the vwh. it seemd very thin, like super wizard (17mm at the first fret) thin.

I've got the dbk (haven't tried the vwh though), and it's a really really thin neck like mentioned, and the breeds are very good allround pups imo..

Re: JEM7VWH and JEM7DBK

I have a 7DBK, and I must say that it is the best sounding guitar that I have ever played (I have been playing for over 30 years and have played many axes).

I think the other posts have detailed the major physical differences between the two.

One of the most important aspects about a guitar is that you have to feel good about playing it... and one of the most critical area's that must feel good in your hands is the neck of the guitar. The 7DBK has one of the finest necks ever made.... if you search this forum and this site in general, you will find comments from "Jem Collectors", who own nearly every Jem ever made, that when asked: "Which Jem has the best neck?"... the 7DBK is regularly listed.

But again, that is completely a personal taste.

Re: JEM7VWH and JEM7DBK

I had a DBK, great guitar !!

Plus points
> Great disorted sound on the Breeds
> Robust finish - more difficult to ding than other guitars with lots of clear lacquer
> Fast neck
> Mirror pickguard

Minus points
> I didn't really like the clean sound on the Breeds
> The thin neck can feel a little flimsy

Overall, great guitar and much cheaper than a 7VWH.
