Thumbs up Jem90HAM Restoration Complete!

Ok in the spirit of posting all the nice new gear and sweet collections lately, I've finally got time to post my "Restored" Jem90ham. I have not played this guitar since I went into National Service! Before that I took out the pickups and sold them away, firstly because I disliked the tone of the Evos and *gasp* I was kinda strapped for cash.

I'm the first owner of the guitar, I placed an order for it through my god-parents living in Japan as soon as I saw the pictures posted on jemsite during NAMM '98.
Man that was soooo long ago.

Some of you may remember my various rants posting about pickguard corrosion, I'm sure Rich would know

Anyway many thanks to Rich regarding his article on his website.
http://www.ibanezrules.com/tech/setup/jem90th_guard.htm

My original pickguard looked almost exactly like the one on Rich's site, just with a littler lesser pitting. I did exactly what is described there, but for much cheaper, 30 Singapore Dollars. Took it to a local electro-plating store and got it done within 3 days!

Got myself a set of Dimarzio Breeds, got everything together and sent it in to my tech here in Singapore. He did the wiring and setup within 2 hours. Seemed like everyone conspired to get it done for me quick

Well here she is in all her glory!
Next to her sister on my EVH inspired wall...*UV777Bk's sleeping in the case now*

Neck Inlay...

Monkey Grip.

Action...

And Chrome!!!!

I'm a very happy boy now.

JJEMMER777 come join me!

Life is good in Jem90 land. The FP is a '97 model, this pattern is probably the most common but I still love it

Thanks for the kind comments guys.

When the money is right again I just may do that Speaking of chrome, I'm still waiting for Sims to finish with the chrome mirror vine in my BRMR neck.

Tick tock tick tock...........

Hmmm...I could have sworn you had posted before that your FP was a 15th. Oh and there is a reason that pattern is the most common I already have two FP's, but if I run across a real nice one with that pattern I'll have 3

One, it's the name of the album van halen first did with sammy hagar. two, it's the name of eddie's studio. And three, it's a california police code that basically means that a person is nuts or insane.

I wish my walls were painted like that.

Re: Jem90HAM Restoration Complete!

Hey guys thanks for the kind comments.

The wall was pretty easy to do actually. I got kind of lazy with the black stripes, I was also afraid that putting them on may chip off the exisiting paint.

The guitar plays amazing.

I used to hate the thin neck profile on the 90th, but I've got used to it. It feels awesome. I miss ebony!

Just like Buttah'!

And man am I happy I went with the general consensus about the Breeds! The neck tones are perfect and bridge tones have quite a lot of bite but not too harsh. I'd like to think of them as a slightly hotter version of the PAF Pros.

I'll post a clip soon when my fingers feel right

Re: Jem90HAM Restoration Complete!

Chris, sweeeeet man. What do I got to do to get your girl to make me one of those framed FP things like she made for you, if I recall correctly, is that it in the background off the reflection of the pickguard. That thing is soooo cool.
