Jems

Oh! Man I just played my first Jem it was a DY and this thing is awsome, but I wasn't even thinking about buying it ,a small question though I just ordered a 7VSBL and I was just thinking would the 7VSBL be that big of an improvement over the DY

Depends on if you prefer the SBL's rosewood fretboard or the DY's Maple

Depends on if you prefer the PAF's to the Evolutions

Those are the two major non-aesthetic differences.

AANJ as well, it's aesthetic, but so is maple vs rosewood, they both serve the same purpose

I'd think that basswood vs. alder might be a bit of a difference as well

You're going to sit there and tell me that maple vs. rosewood isjust aesthetics? come on! they feel different and the sound different.

And I thought that the VSBL was back to basswood, no?

I wouldn't say the VSBL is an improvement. It all depends on what you prefer:

Basswood vs Alder
PAF Pros vs Evolutions
Standard Neck Joint vs AANJ

I have the VSBL and I still would like to have a VDY :-)

The VSBL is Alder. Basically the same as the VWH, with the exception of the rosewood fingerboard instead of ebony

Aahh so this is a vdy! Different neck profile. I miss the DY and VDY Jems.
