JS1

Ok, I have the opportunity to buy a JS1, but I was wondering if the JS1000 is any better? From what I gather, they are preety much the same, except for the tremelo..should I go for the JS1 or the JS1000?

if you can spend the money buy a JS1000. search the forums before you post as well... The JS1000 has the multiradius neck. The Dimarzio Fred and Paf Pro pickups. And the best tremelo the market can offer. The JS1 has a regular ibanez neck (wizard or something) V1 and V2 pickups. and a really terrible trem. search the forum before posting....this is like the 5th time someone as asked this question.

The JS 1 has had DiMarzio Fred and PAF Pro pickups and an Edge trem since it became an official model in 1990.

If it's a great deal, i'd say go for it. But check around for used prices on a 1000 first. If it's going to be a player, you might find the 1000 more to your liking.

5th time somebody's asked it, yet you can still come up with that info? LOL Too funny!

Used JS1's that I've seen have been priced slightly lower than used JS1000's, but only because they tend to be a bit more "used" I think. They're very similar to the JS1000 with the exceptions of not having the digitized neck and having the Edge trem, as Darren said. If you click on the swirly "Ibanez Rules" banner at the top of the page, you can learn a bit more about the various JS models.

RSVamp was (sorta) doing the 100/1000 comparison instead of the 1/1000 comparison.

like someone said, only real difference is multiradius neck and lo-pro on the 1000 vs. single radius/edge on the 1.

HAHAH Wizard neck + V1 V2 pickups.

That's gold. I'm writing that one down.

The JS1's are so similar to the 1000's. Only different is color scheme's, Edge vs Lo Pro and age. There's also the vintage vs Brand new factor.

If you can find a good deal on a JS1, then there's that but if you want the top of the line of today and don't mind spending some bucks, JS1000BP/WH.

I recommend BP.

I had a 1000 with the multiradius, and I have a JS1 now, and to be honest I really can't tell any difference besides the cosmetics. Before I used to worry if I'd like a JS1 as much as the newer 1000, and my answer is hell yeah!

Sorry to get a little off topic, but does the 90th anniversarry have the multi radius neck?

1996 and earlier JS1000s didn't have the multiradius neck, so those are VERY close to a JS1...

The Js1 i once had sounded a lot better than the 1000......it had the same pickups, and the Js1 neck feels thicker. But i got lower action with the Js multiradiused neck on the 1000.......but maybe I didn't set up the Js1 as good as it could get........still the Js1 had good action. I like the Js1 better overall cuz it sounded better.....don't ask me why, it just did. Also, I prefer the edge trems.....maybe because satch does. Finally, i'd get a black Js1.....i'm not really fond of the current colors for the Js1000.........I prefer chrome hardware, jet black body color.........and not this cosmo color stuff.

If the Js1 is in excellent condition overall.......i'd grab it!

Well I have a JS1 Inferno Red, and I love it! I also have a 90th JS, and to be honest I always switch between the two. If there was anything I'd change about the JS1 it'd be sanding the back of the neck off for that natural feel! Other than that I think you'll be happy either way!

did that last sentence make any sense? Didn't think so!

I'd take the 1 over the 1000. I'm vain, I like chrome, and the color/graphic options better

Wow, thats one of the most far-out descriptions of a guitar I've ever seen.
