JS10 aging finish?

I have a case-kept JS10. I open the case every few months to stop and stare . It's been awhile some I have looked, but today I noticed that the entire body has "yellowed" slightly. The headstock, backplate, and pickup rings don't appear to have done it. Is this normal? The yellowing is completely even. It honestly looks kinda cool (almost like a golding), but I know it did not look like the last time I looked. I will try to grab some pics when I can find a decent camera.

Any ideas? Anyone have one that hasn't been a "player" to compare?
Thanks!

My guess it's a lower number?

First batch 10th's are clearcoated. It's the clear yellowing. We call them "Goldboys".

Re: JS10 aging finish?

I'd be interested in seeing some pictures if you have time. Also wondering if anyone has an idea of how many were in the first batch? I've got one in the double digits. Any preventative tips out there or does this seem unavoidable?

Does yours have an amber tone to it, or is it blue?

Re: JS10 aging finish?

Well... Hard to say. It's really a pretty clear, silvery chrome to my eye at the moment. But considering those to options I WOULD have to say maybe more of an amber tint. I think. Lol. The paint in my room is green, and the light is kind of giving off a yellow tint also... Geeze ... I'm goin with amber until I see it in some natural light.

Re: JS10 aging finish?

Pardon my ignorance if I'm wrong, but given the JOE SATRIANI inlays, aren't the guitars in that photo JS100's?

Your kinda right.... There are 2 JS100s.... The chrome one is a JS10th body given to me by the Ibanez Importer in NZ..... I threw a JS100 neck on it and an edge trem.....

I'm away right now...but will try to snap some pics (need to get some decent ones anyway) when I can. Im guessing outside pics would be best instead of indoor lighting?

It needed a neck, i had a spare JS100 neck that fit perfectly...... If you cant use a JS100 neck and make it sound good, id blame your playing.... They arent JS1000 quality, but, theres nothing wrong with them.....
