JS10 Bargain????

Hey,

Not a big JS fan but in my searches I've come across a chrome JS10 for 850 GBP locally in very good condition.
I swear they were worth more than this, quite a bit more.

Anyone shed a little light as to the value of these?

That sounds fantastic value to me. Check out Rich's used section for comparisons of legitimacy and condition. http://www.ibanezrules.com/used.htm#JS

Btw: Rich's prices are great, new & used so you may have found a rare deal.

Re: JS10 Bargain????

Make sure its a proper chromeboy is the obvious thing to say as it could be a js100 or 1000 thats been coated by sims customshop. The easiest way to tell is the production number on the control cavity should not be any higher than #508, the serial number should start with f97 and give the body a tap as the original 10th ones are luthite and so will be a bit lighter and sound a little more hollow when you tap on the body.

As for what the value is i'd say for one in a clearly used state between 1500 and 1700
A mint one you are looking around the 2500 mark.

If its a genuine 10th then buy it.... its an ultra bagain!!! Then run away.......FAST!!!!

Cheers, I've sent him an EMail, let's hope he gets back to me!

It's apparently number 393.

Re: JS10 Bargain????

Some of these took ages to sell. I know one was sitting in a store in my hometown for months. The price was (todays currency) US$2600, down from ~US$5000. My point, some of these sold "cheap", second hand price can be very gentle if the sellers are not mad geeks.

Re: JS10 Bargain????

There's been one of these come up a number of times that was a scam. If he says it's in Orkney or Shetland or somewhere, it's the same one.

Re: JS10 Bargain????

Hey, I was just about to post a scam warning, lol.

If he was in London (he's on London Craigslist) I'd have paid him a visit and possibly come away with the guitar, but now he's in Shetland, where even the Scottish can't be arsed to go and will only accept bank transfer.

Whatever happens I'm not going for it, it seems a bit sketchy.

Can anyone give details about this JS10th scam in Shetland? Maybe we should try give this some confirmation before we label some poor dude trying to sell a cool guitar a scammer, lol.

Re: JS10 Bargain????

For that kind of money i would send him a question asking if you could collect, its worth paying the trip money to collect it at that price, but if course its about as real as a pig with a dogs head and a horses penis...

Re: JS10 Bargain????

If it's real, at that price, I could fly over there from the States and buy it in person and it would still be worth it. I'd be very suspect.

Re: JS10 Bargain????

I've got one in unplayed condition that I would part with. All case candy still in original packaging. #10. Really could use the cash and to help fund a JS1200.
