Question Js100 better than rg?

I alway read how everyone disses the js100 and how it would be better to just save up for a js1000. well the js100 I got was only 250$, and all the used or new js1000 i've seen are up to 1000$. I am not a huge extremely good player, but I was just wondering: Is the JS100 better than all those RGs you always tell people to exchange JS100's for???

Js100's are 670$ price wise. and most RG's are a 500$ price range. Does the Js100 only cost so much becuase it has Joe Satriani's name and style guitar?

yes to the joe satriani bit lol.
it uses cheaper/less durable materials than the RG's, but it is priced high because satch gets his share, and because people will pay for the JS name

You got it cheap so sell it thru on evil bay or something...

And buy something better... Now don't ask me what to buy because I would say a 1000 ( :

Re: Js100 better than rg?

I liked my RG 570 better than my JS1000. I can't say if one was "better" than the other. Both are now gone. My JEM will never be sold...

Re: Js100 better than rg?

What do you dig about the JS? If it's the body shape, keep your eyes peeled for the Radius models (r540, 540r). They go on **** all the time for under $400, and are 95% the quality of a JS1000 (Edge trem, DiMarzio IBZUSA pickups). Some of us actually PREFER them to a JS1000. The 1988-1992 models are the ones to look for. Two just went for $300 and $365.

If it's the name or the Fred/PAF Pro pickups that you like about the JS, keep looking for a JS - you won't get 'em with a radius.

Re: Js100 better than rg?

Like Jester says, go with the 540R. You can get a paf pro and a fred for $50 each on the bay and you still come out way cheaper than with a JS1000. I lucked into finding a '90 540R in Ruby Red that was two humbuckers instead of HSH. When I got it, I found that an earlier owner had already put the Paf Pro and Fred in. And they'd wired it just like the JS1000. Very cool indeed.

That is extremely low for this day in age, maybe $600 or $700 though which is very fair!

Look for a used js100, you can get them around $400ish. I thought they were great guitars for the price!
