JS1000 Questions

Hi all,

Just received my JS1000 off a guy from CT. I live in Western Canada.
Anyway, I had already typed 3/4's of a longer post when I accidental pushed the wrong buttons an lost the email so I am going right to the quetions:

It is strung with 10's and the previous owner had it tuned to "D". In your guys' estimation, will I need to add another Trem spring to the 3 already there?
The volume knob/shaft was stupidly pulled out by me. I added a small strip of tape to the shaft to secure it into the pot. I realize after the fact that it is supposed to pull, which it doesn't, to activate the high pass filter. Am I screwed and have to get a replacement pot or is there any way to fix the existing pot so it switches?

Really appreciate some help. guys....

Thanx,
Jim

Re: JS1000 Questions

Shouldn't need another spring unless they're heavy bottom 10's. The plastic clip on the shatft was probably already broken but it is not fixable, only replaceable.

Thanks, Rich

I got the trem adjusted with 3 springs as you suggested. I do have a fair amount of experience with Floyd's but I was starting to get concerned when the adjustment screws were close to running out of threads.
Do I just replace the shaft on the volume knob or do I have to replace the pot??
Also, could you suggest a place to purchase these parts as I also need 1 lock nut clamp.
Much appreciated!!

Thanx,
Jim
