JS1000 Serial number help

Is this a legit serial number format ? I've seen some that start with F ?

008483 I should say this is the number format on the plate...is this even the serial number ?

looking for some help before I plunk down the cash for this used axe. Thanks

Re: JS1000 Serial number help

The serial number is on the back of the headstock. That's a plate number.

Re: JS1000 Serial number help

I'm fairly sure that's the number of guitar built. Mine is 002346 (or something like that... I haven't got it with me :P)
Mine was made circa 1992 and it doesn't have a serial number on the headstock, so the serial number doesn't necessarily mean it's legit, though it can be a good indicator if it's clearly a made up one.

I think F means it was made in the Fujishima factory...

Re: JS1000 Serial number help

the serial number that means the most is the 6 digit number on the plate at the back of the body

Re: JS1000 Serial number help

If there is a serial number on the headstock, that is the serial number. The plate number is only the serial number before 1994, when they started using headstock decal numbers.
