JS1000 TR?...uh?

Hi,

Just wondering here, i came across an add for a JS1000 TR.
Looking left and right i haven't found any reference to a JS1000 ever being made in the Trans. Red finish.
Anyone got any clues as to what year this one was build?

the color TR isn't in the JS1000 series I believe it's the 100 series. So you don't get the digitized neck, the Dimarzio pickups (you get ibanez wound ones) or the lo-pro edge (you get a trs). Also don't get the high pass filter or coil cutting push/pull pots.

Let me sum up

Color____________________cool!
features__________________uncool!

It'll take a good chunk of money to make that guitar sing like a JS1000. But I do like the color. I wish *they did make the JS1000 series in more variety of colors like TR or TB. And give the white and black to the 100 series.

A common misconception about the JS100 is that it doesn't have the coil splitting feature. It does.

I'm also pretty sure it has the high-pass filter, but can't remember... it's been a couple of years since i tried out the JS100.

You're right Darren, they have coil splitting .
The only Js 1000 in red is Inferno Red - JS1000 IR. Like a Ferrari Red. I agree with you rsvampire, the TR is a very cool color.

Actually, the JS1000 has NEVER been available in Inferno Red. *That was a JS1, the precursor to the JS1000. *I believe they were available right around 1991-92. *Basically the same guitar, but no digitized neck. *

Or you could do what a couple people have already done. Buy a JS1000....ship it off to get a new paint job. or just do it yourself...whatever's clever.

The JS1 IR were prodictued in 1991 and 1992 and in this is the year that the Js model mounted the Di marzio HS2 single *coil in the middle position...

taking a look at my site *you can find some images in the catalogues that you'll find in the 'photo' section

In my opinion(which doesnt say a lot) the js100 is nothing like the 1000. The 100 is made in korea, doesnt have the high pass filter, is made from different wood i think and obviously has inferior pick ups . After i bought my 1000 i was in the music shop buying a wah pedal but they didnt have any 1000's for me to try it on so i asked for a 100 instead and it was pale in comparison. Theres no doubt its still a nice machine but not compared to the 1000.Even the pickup switch was different and didnt "flick" as nicely.
