JS1200 Color Matching

Does anybody have advice or tips on finding a color thats pretty close to the JS1200 CA? Long story short, I have a small chip on one edge of the headstock, and was planning on fixing it. However, I just need to find a paint that resembles the finish. Due to the small nature of the chip, I don't need it to match exactly, but I want to blend some color in there rather than leave it naked. (Honestly, this guitar just looks too good to not try and keep it clean )

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Color matching is hard to do. If the shade isn't perfect you end up with an equally obvious spot where the color isn't right. I think it's best to bite the bullet and accept it, because you could spend lots of money and still not be happy.

I call those spots where the guitar earns its, "personality". Once personality is attained I am usually less afraid to play that guitar.

Re: JS1200 Color Matching

Yeah I do agree, It's bound to happen eventually. I have plenty of dings and dents on my other guitars. I just don't want to leave bare wood with a rough edge for the rest of the paint to be slowly chipped off over time. I'll probably seal the chip somehow, but I figured while I was at it I'd try and cover the bare wood with some color.

So I guess my next question is, whats the best paint to use on the headstock of a guitar? I was thinking of automotive touchup paint, just a dab and polish it. It won't match perfectly, but I bet I could get it close enough where only a close look would notice. Anybody know of a candy apple red car?
