Re: JS20th - 3D Inlay Discoloration / Haziness
I thought I'd revive this thread.
I have two 20ths right now. On one, the Silver Surfer is definitely silver. He's a little bit dulled, but he's unmistakably silver.
On the other, he's a bit shinier and glossy, but he's also got a more gold-colored hue depending on the light.
I don't really know which guitar is more "correct", and I suppose it's simply a matter of preference which look one prefers. I did notice, though, that the 20th on display at NAMM years ago (pics courtesy of Ibanez rules, of course!) was very shiny *and* very silver.
Have people with 20ths noticed that the Silver Surfer changes to a more golden color over time perhaps? Rich has said (on his web site, I think) that about one third of the 20ths he's seen had some discoloration on the Silver Surfer.
What have other players noticed? I guess that's my main reason for posting.
