Re: JS20th

Can someone explain what a "black dog" is, as mentioned on the previous page?

On another note, what is the guitar that 'Satch is playing on the 20th SWTA DVD? It happens to be black, with some custom graphics (purple? and white/silver?).

thanks.

One of Satch's old guitars. I think this was stolen, although not 100% sure about that. There is a pic of it on his website.

Re: JS20th

It was stolen and he got it back without the graphics. Check us out Gurj, we got subtitles now!

I don't know. *shrug* That's why I'm asking. The graphics on the guitar in the DVD footage kinda look Donnie-ish, but the picture of black dog on Satriani's gallery site is not too big or clear.

I'm almost positive that's Black Dog.
Mystery solved! Good job gang!

Re: JS20th

Don't get too happy it's most likely just going to be a flame top(black) with a small special inlay.

Re: JS20th

What would be the point of even DOING a JS20th if its not going to be something *special*, unique, and super appealing?

That's interesting... I can't imagine what it's going to be. But they've pretty much explored every avenue, haven't they? Except a golden JS, maybe. Oh well, time will tell.

Re: JS20th

Well, I remember Rich mentioning in a post a long time ago that someone made a "Goldboy" and gave it to Joe. the closest to a goldboy is a JS2000 but, I honestly don't think Ibanez will go that direction since they haven't perfected the chromeboys as it is finish wise. I wish Rich would give us more details....

Re: JS20th

Oh yeah, I forgot about the JS2000CG. Well, that leaves me totally puzzled as to what it's going to be. Which is cool, in way. Because it'll be a big surprise when it comes out.

I'd love an emerald green JS, with matching headstock. That would rule. Or with a moonstone finish.

Re: JS20th

I hope they will make enough to go around. I'm actually getting sick of $1200 guitars selling for $5000 because they only made like 15 of them. We are crazy to be obsessed enough to buy them...

How about they mass produce the chromeboy with a finish that doesnt flake off? Now that is 20 years in the coming...

Wishful thinking Dino, especially on the Chromeboy request

Re: JS20th

What did the crystal planet JS retail for when new?

Right now I might have a hard enough time convincing my wife I *need* a regular JS1200CA, let alone whatever this new 20th anniversary guitar is going to be!
LOL

Re: JS20th

I believe MSPR on the Crystal Planet was 3Grand. I could've bought one at the store for 2500 in 2005.
