JS900

I love this guitar - totally stock and the coolest loking of the production JS's IMO:

Re: JS900

I saw one of these in my local music shop at the weekend and originally thought it was a JS1000BP but closer investigation revealed it to be a JS900.

I don't know how much these retailed for brand new but they were asking £875 for it, which (for a 6 year old guitar) seemed pretty damned high.

Re: JS900

Seems a little high but if it plays well and is in mint condition then there are worse guitars - its cheaper than a korean prestige and a better built guitar

Re: JS900

Sadly it wasn't mint - a few noticeable scratches above the neck pickup and that was only a cursory inspection. Frankly I'd rather hunt around for a new or good condition secondhand JS1000BP than shell out so much on this one.

I didn't pay a whole lot more for a new BTB and recently bought a very good nick JS1000WH for a shade over 550 so that puts things in perspective slightly.

Maybe I'm just being dense but why would you pick a 900 over a 1000?

Re: JS900

its identical to the 1000 par the edge trem instead of the low pro (never felt one had anything to offer over the other anyway) and it doesn't have the coil tap which i'd never use . The chome metal work looks much better also and I guess it was one of those guitars that the second I saw it I knew I had to have it.

Re: JS900

Didn't mean to demean your guitar if that's how it came across - that really is a a superb looking guitar

I was just genuinely interested in why you or anyone would buy a 900 over a 1000.

Re: JS900

I'd buy a JS900 over a JS1000BP because I think that the JS's look much better with the chrome hardware. Nice guitar btw probot

Re: JS900

Sure is - the last customer job as I believe he's stopped doing it now. I guess not enough work to make it worthwhile?
Pity because he does do a really nice job and I know its a whole matter of personal taste etc but I prefered Richards swirls to Hercs and a lot of the others due the way he created faded hues blending into each other, just lucky to own a couple of them really...

Re: JS900

The JS900 also doesn't have the multi-radius neck doesn't it?

You can find JSs for so cheap now too.
