Kennydoe's Triumphant Return (with a new UV swirl!)

Hey guys.

Long time no see...I moved and got caught up in all the stuff that goes along with buying a new house - moving, painting, etc. I checked my 'new posts since last visit' and it was at 1258. I decided to not bother reading back :P

I finally received my new pickguard for my UV in the mail today...thanks Alden (YaYoGaak). I was a bit of a tough customer, but i think on the 6th or 7th try, he got one i liked. I put it on today and am quite happy with the results

For those not familiar with this guitar, it's a UV777PBK with red Evo7/PAF7 in Bridge and Neck with a Tom Anderson 7 string single coil in the middle. The red knobs are from Ishibashi and the strap is from dimarzio/Brain Calvert.

Refresh my memory if you were one of the people who wanted to buy the cheesy mirror pickguard.

~Kenny

That reminds me a lot of Vai's hendrix inspired UV, which is prolly my favorite guitar to look at. Looks killer!

the burnt one? if so, ibanez should release a new jem with such a finish, even if it's not as burnt.

The middle pickup is nice - like a hot strat pickup...100x better than the toy Blaze single.

The guard is seald with a s**tload of clear, yes. I forget how many coats he said he used...

I like the way it turned out and you guys need to give props to Alden - it was all his work. He dipped that damn thing about 8 times. The 2nd dip was great, but there was something he didn't like about it...when he started messing with it it got ruined. Everytime i said 'nope - that's not it' he had to re-prime and seal.

Mad propz to YaYoGakk yo!

Devilishly cool! Could use a little red on the head to balance it out, otherwise it's wicked

Now I see them; that's the smartest mod I've seen in a while! I usually don't like swirls much but using it like that is just awesome!

Nice! You should get the truss rod cover done too.

I have the same strap with my Magenta Crush RG7420. The clash is glorious.
