I have to whole-heartedly agree with Rich on this one. High res pictures online would soon be scooped up and used on copies. Each one is unique; after all the effort it takes to find one, I'd like to keep that uniqueness.

The 1992 USA catalogue has some nice pictures of both types in the JS range page.

even MCs are unique pieces, but how many known ppl make them?
also, i'm not gonna do a perfect copy of those patterns, i just need a guide to do the work myself.

(thanks Simon)

Who really cares if photos are used to make more copies. After all, they are just that.. copies.

As we often fail to realize, only a few people would pay high prices for them anyways... and these people likely have them already. Second, fakes are easy to spot. Third, the labor costs to dupe a rainforest would chew into any profits. ...glen

I agree completely, however, if I had an original, I'd want the less possible people to have either originals or copies, just so mine feels more 'exclusive'. Stupid? probably.

Yeah well think about it glen. If ten copies of one of your custom guitars showed up on ebay how would you feel?

Obviously Iain and I care And I'm betting the # of people that could tell an original from a good copy could be counted on one hand.

Blah... anyone making fakes has access to doing them... with or without more photos. These weren't commissioned to be made for you (or others) personally and photos are widely available... have been for over a decade. If people are clueless about fakes, then withholding more pics will not change anything.

This is like the RIAA's stance against MP3s.

Fraud can't be stopped, and most anti-piracy measures only hurts the honest customers Your mileage will vary... i could care less myself (have no interest in collecting JPGs or building one myself), but wanted to comment on such repeated postings... glen

There are very few phots available outside of catalog shots. Any copy/fake is only going to be as good as the artist and what he was working from, I will not aid in any way. Customers has nothing to do with it since they are not for sale

THEN WHO WOULD KNOW IF IT'S FAKE OR NOT!

You mean well, but your argument really makes little sense when you think it thru You're arguing you don't want to help forgers, but by not publishing photos, forging is ACTUALLY EASIER since it's harder (near impossible) to spot the counterfeit/fake.

Houston we have a problem.

You think every buyer will email you asking for authenticity. ROTF. You're helping keep these more a mystery, but nothing else really ...glen
