Monster guitar bodies

Anyone ever purchase a Jem or Universe body manufactured by Monster Guitars (monsterguitars.com)? I'm considering it since I've had a hard time tracking down a UV77 body for my next project.

Re: Monster guitar bodies

Thanks. I'll check them out. Also, the correct URL for MOnster Guitars is monsterguitarshop.com (I messed that one up).

Re: Monster guitar bodies

I've ordered a UV body and neck about 10 weeks ago by Monster Guitar Shop for a Universe project.

As soon as i've got the body and neck, i will make a new thread and make some nice pics.

Re: Monster guitar bodies

I remember reading a thread on a different forum about a guy getting shoddy work done at MonsterGuitars. If I remember correctly, he had to take the guitar to a luthier to get some of the routing redone along with some holes redrilled.

Re: Monster guitar bodies

Koss, if I remember correctly, you were the one who posted your "experiences" with Monster Guitars. I have read a lot of threads saying search for the other threads, but I have never yet been able to get the jemsite search engine to produce the threads in question (I have tried numerous times). How about posting a link ...

I got an ash JEM body that they made, it was nice but they didn't counter sink the neck holes on the back and the neck pocket was a little too big and caused the neck to not fit tight.

Re: Monster guitar bodies

I emailed both EKG and Chris Woods about bodies, but I never heard back from EKG. I ended up ordering two bodies from Chris.

Re: Monster guitar bodies

I've emailed EKG, but have not heard back yet (it is Labor Day weekend though). Who is Chris Woods and how can I contact him?

Re: Monster guitar bodies

Chris Woods (www.christopherwoods.com) is essentially a guy who builds bodies/necks/guitars. His site has a gallery. Nice work, and I think some people here have bought from him.
