My 10th Ann Jem has no Serial # on Neck

Hi Guys,

I have recently grabbed a 10th ann Jem. Its been case sitting for a while and I took it out to look at it again and noticed that it doesnt have a serial. How I didnt notice at first is beyond me, but this does frustrate me a little.

Im not too concerned as it is a player for me and not mint. It is also definitely original, the neck and body have been together since factory by the looks. I dont have the original pickguard either. The neck shows absolutely no sign of tampering. I have the COA.

I know that Ibanez, while mostly consistent, has done things like this in the past. Just wondering if anyone has seen this also.

Any JEM10 without serial number and guard would suggest it was stolen at one time and the serial and numbered pickguard removed so it could never be identified. I've never seen a guitar made by Fujigen that did not have a serial number.

Damn... this was purchased from a friend who has no need to purchase stolen gear and it has been in his collection for some time.

I'll talk to him about it, but weren't there a number of 10th ann necks without serials due to the PG serial? I read some other mentions of this somewhere.

It's not like he would know, just like you.

I've never seen or heard of a 10th without a serial number and don't know what PG serial means.

edit, pickguard? is an edition number, not a serial number.

Strange thing is that SN is missing but is that there is COA.

I have seen several COA's for sale over the years, at least a couple of them never had the serial number written on them, but that is uncommon. The guitar would always have a serial number

Is this the guitar with the black pickguard, Duncans and the headstock plate missing as well?

Well, damn.

It doesnt look like its been tampered with(i.e. serial removed), nor does it look forged. COA appears legitimate. Ageing is consistent for a 20yo ibby. I guess I'll have to just have to keep on enjoying it.

Apparently there is more than one person in New Zealand messing with Jem 10th's?

Who knows. I've seem ample modded Jems etc etc in my time. Did it look good? I wouldn't mind all black I had that done to an old UV777 and it looked great.

I can't attach the image. Says it's too big. Oh well. I'm not bothering to host this image for the purposes of discussion.

Re: My 10th Ann Jem has no Serial # on Neck

ok, all good I dont need pics, like I said, I did it on a UV777 so I have a fair idea. Its one hell of a keeper guitar anyway so its not going anywhere. Its a great player and even more so now that it has lost collectable and resale value. Upon closer inspection it looks like there may have been a serial at some point although this could also be me seeing things I want to. Prev owner had it for a very long time.
