Re: My Custom Bad Horsie Jem

Not sure yet what colors I'm going to use, though I do love the DNA colors. I'm still experimenting with color combinations. Those blocks are actually my guitar hangers and I have 3 more to play with and my mouse and keyboard for my main pc and my recording pc in the studio. Since I'm picking color combination that I haven't seen, I'll try the ones I'd like to see and pick from those. B)

Re: My Custom Bad Horsie Jem

I have done a lot more work on the jem. As seen here.

I messed up so badly on my flamed maple neck that i had to toss it, well i didnt toss it but am keeping it as an example of what not to do lol. I got some birdseye and started on the neck and everything is coming out perfect this time around. Tomarrow i will post pick of the neck cut out.

Re: My Custom Bad Horsie Jem

Well... you got me interested! Your Bad Horsie guitar will be different from stock item which is basswood -- I kinda prefer alder too.

Please keep posting pics. Would like to see the continued progress and ultimately the final product.

I take it you've made guitars before? Lookin' pretty good so far.

I'd be interested in what the Jem guitar costs after your all done... mebbe you can let us know how much money and time goes into makin one of those. Good luck with the rest of it!

Re: My Custom Bad Horsie Jem

This is my 2nd made (acutally process of making) guitar. You can see all the progress pics plus pics of my other made guitar at.

And yeah i will let you know how much it cost. My goal one day is to start making complete customs for people. Les pauls, Jems, whatever, everything custom and specified by the buyer right down to what kind of strings go on it. The cost of the whole project will cost around 400-450 totally for this jem. And that might even be guessing too much.

Re: My Custom Bad Horsie Jem

I went to the plastic shop today and my mirror front is underway being worked on as we speak. He said it should be done monday, if not monday then tuesday most likely, depends on how many problems he encouters. He gave me a big piece of scrap so that i could test different types of glues to glue it. Total cost it cost me for the material was 13 dollers.... lol, the price came in in labor which was about 60 buck. so round80 bucks total, i didnt think it was bad at all compared to sims, lol. So ibanez and sims even for that matter are totally marking these things outta control. I also got my jem and V neck cut out and will post some pics when i get home from work tonight.
