My JEM experience - Like a tidal wave...

Today after playing the first UV777BK I have ever seen in my life (which I was satisfied with as it played just like a JEM with a 7th string) I went to another nearby guitar shop.
As soon as we walked in, to my right behind the counter, like an angel out of darkness, a JEM77FP hanging up on the wall. I couldn't believe it. My whole body just threw itself to the side like I had been hit by a 400 foot tidal wave.

As I walked in more after staring in awe at the FP, to my left on the floor there were 2 rows of guitar stands. In the second row of guitars near the wall, there was a Jem77RB there. This was the most abused, mistreated, beat up guitar I have ever seen in my life. It looks like the previous owner destroyed it on purpose! Every single edge and corner including the headstock aswell as the body was eiher missing large chips of paint or had very large, nasty dings in it! It was heartbreaking.

Seeing the FP for the first time was like seeing my 7V for the first time ever... except I didn't get to go home with the FP. Sigh...

My question is this: what were the two guitar shops involved?
I ask because I am in Toronto, as well.

SongBird?

If so, i played that 7RB, and it played beautifully, as one would expect. But it was waaay overpriced for a 15 year old beat-to-crap guitar.

It might have been songbird.
The shop was long and narrow. Whn you walked in the door, on your immediate right in the counter with guitars hanging at head level on the walls.

The RB was $895.

Unfortunately I didn't play either as much as I wanted to. I was just in shock being in the presence of an FP for the first itme in my life. I wonder now if the PAF Pro/Basswood/rosewood is gonna be a good sound for me.
I bought my 7V because of EVOs/Alder/Ebony.

I want the FP sooo bad though.
Maybe they'll accept a trade in of a 555BK in good condition +cash??

Go for it! Most here would rather own an FP over an RG anyday.

Here's a sad story:

a few weeks ago there was a Jem77FP here in Brampton. It was an '89 model with the real material. It had a cracked neck (easily repairable) and a chip below the output.

It was selling for $550. after spending the week there for at least 2 hours a day playing the crap out of that thing...I went back to play it one day and the guy at the counter said "someone came and bought it."

Too bad I didn't have a job

Darren - Either on Bathurst or very close to it. My eyes were focused on the ground as I was trying to avoid slipping on ice.

The thing is, I bought my 7V maybe 4 - 5 months ago and only 2 months ago did I get out of debt with my $$$$ I borrowed to buy her.

I'm up maybe $350 - $400 now (hey i'm 17).
Waiting for my next paychecks.
I am also being waited on to joni a paintball team so that means I have to buy all my own equipment.
I wonder if with the money I had, if I were to trade my 555BK would they accept it.

IT'S ON MY MIND NIGHT AND DAY!
I can't believe I didn't play her. I have to go down there again.

I can't tell you how tired I get of hearing this. ALL Florals are *real* material!

I'm pretty sure it was new/mint, it was behind the counter. If memory serves, the price tag said something like $2499.99
