My Jems in Black light......

Guys you have to try it, it's fantastic....
A quick question though : the vine on my BFP doesn't glow in Black light.... the green vines do (GMC and FP), how come my blue fluorencent vine doesn't glow????? Am I the only one to have this "problem"??
thanks in advance for your replies -
Julien

Generally, only fluorescent colours will glow under black-lights, along with whites.

To get it to glow, you need to have it replaced with (most probably) a UV reactive light blue plastic. I don't know if they exist (light blues are normally caused by UV on white, but I digress).

Good luck, all the same.

Which reminds me I want to get one of those glowing clear pickguards for my 777VSK. Jeremy posted a pic way back of all his under the blacklights, and they looked awesome. I've actually thought about taking my blacklight to gigs and putting it where others can't notice it. Then do a tripped out song, and have the stage almost dark, and turn the blacklights on. That'd look awesome

I used that pic as the background for one of the two screensavers that I made for the LGM site. Go get it! IT'S FREE! You'll find them on the main page towards the bottom.

Blue is weird as a fluoroescent color. Have you ever noticed that in fluoroescent paint kits, if blue is included, it's never as bright as the others.

I don't remember if the BFP pickups are direct mounted or not but if they are, you could order a DNA pickguard and apply it to the BFP. I did it to one of my FP's and it looks cool. It's a pricy pickguard so you may want to get some removeable clear Static cling plastic like BodiGard or something if you want to protect it

Thanks guys but the question remains the same - when you go in a club with a White t-shirt/shirt/pants or whatever and there is black light on the dance floor, anything "white" shine/glow like a star - Why on earth my 7vwh,perfect white, isn't doing the same? Why the so-called "blue fluorescent vine" of my BFP doesn't react...
It's unfair.....

Probably because of the reflective surface.... That's the only thing I can think of.

Depends on the type of pigment. If it's not the right type of paint (or plastic in the case of the inlays) it won't glow. Can't remember specifically what it is about it that glows, but some paints, etc, just don't have it.

I don't remember my BFP's vine glowing under black light but the body glows very bright turqoise-green. It looks like it's radiated when under black light. I don't know if it is the same with other BFPs.
Mine is one of the green, let's say teal, BFPs.

I don't remember: but was the BFP actually advertized by Ibanez as having a FLUOROESCENT blue vine? I know it's lighter than the vine on the VSBL but I don't recall it being bright enough to dub it "fluoroescent".
