My New JEM7vwh

Hey everyone! I've been reading this forum for the past month trying to figure out wether to get the JEM7VWH or the JEM77BRMR and I decided to get the JEM7VWH. It's an awesome guitar. I started wanting a JEM when Steve Vai came into my Dad's friend's work and gave my Dad's friend a VWH. You can't tell that the fret board is rosewood because it was oiled. I was sorta confused because after it was oiled it looked like ebony. How do you insert a picture?

Does the image have to be online, it can't be posted directly from your computer?

Nice! I'm thinking if I win the contest I'll shell out the extra dough for some vine. Very cool!

That board in the pic looks like Ebony to me. Are you sure its not an older VWH?

Man that looks lovely

Yeah it really does look like ebony... can you maybe post some close ups of the board or a pic from a different angle or something?

That really looks like ebony. Is the neck 5 piece with the volute or maple with a scarf joint? If its not 5 piece its an older 7VWH

Looks like a 2003. Edge pro and ebony.

That said, when I got my Jem, the rosewood was DARK.

Re: My New JEM7vwh

The fret board is rosewood. I was confused for a little while. When I had it setup the person who set the guitar up conditioned the hell out of the fret board. Here is a picture of the fret board before it was conditioned.
And here is a pic after it was conditioned.

And here is a pic of the back of the guitar-just want to make sure it's not an old JEM

Re: My New JEM7vwh

What the £$ck did he put on it, shoe polish. Whats the big obsession with cleaning a fretboard like that? Ok ,get the dirt off, but all the grime and crap gives the guitar tone and character.

Re: My New JEM7vwh

HEHEHHE. That's some stupid monkey I have laying around. But anyway, I think she just put some lemon oil or some type of fret board conditioner on it. She did it to one of my other guitars and after playing it for a week or so, it turned back to it's normal color. Isn't it good to condition a fret board every once in a while rather than to let it dry out? And it is a new JEM right?
