Unhappy My UV7BK... for a Fender Sambora Strat?

Hey guys,

A dude made an offer for my 1996 Ibanez Universe UV7BK (gallery).
He owns a 1996 Fender Stratocaster Richie Sambora signature model, which he claims to be mint.
I guess I'm having a GAS attack, so I cannot think very well.
Today I don't necessarily need a 7 string anymore.
Please give me some advice, whether I should trade or not.

Here are some pics of his guitar:

Please give opinions.
Thanks guys.

Re: My UV7BK... for a Fender Sambora Strat?

NO WAY ON EARTH WOULD I SWAP THAT.... NO WAY!! Sambora?..... he's crap.... LOL

Whatever floats your boat dude but a strat, with G.A.Y. stars on it? not for me thanks.

Although, you did say that you don't have a need for 7 strings anymore so that at least holds some weight for you to do a trade. Can't say I'm a fan of Sambora and his signature model though. But that is all in my OWN opinion of course. Wait to see what a bunch of other people reckon first to aid your decision making process but maybe asking on the Jemsite, you may get a biased crowd toward the UV7BK. Who knows?

Hey Macka, thanks for your opinion.
I'm here to collect personal opinions, so your opinion is important as well.

What made me think about this is Strat is that every single person I ask, every single review I read, says this Sambora Strat is pretty hard to find, and one of the finest instruments made by Fender. Yeah probably most people here will go towards the UV... but who knows huh?

I have no idea of the relative values, but if it were me, i'd keep the UV.

That Strat does look nice, but not with those inlays.

Rock on!

I say go with whatever suits your music style.

Also, base it off of whatever other guitars you have. If you are lacking in the strat department but have some other Ibbys, I would go for it.

Actually, I probably shouldn't have even weighed in on this debate. I only own 6 string guitars and desperately want a 7 string, but not just any 7 string.... it must be a universe. Go with your gut and do some research on how rare the RS' series is and it's quality. Still, a UV7BK is hard to come by today as well. It's a hard decision mate.... for you that is.

That's an important point that I was missing...
