Neck pup on BFP

Hi,
i want to know if the PAF pro on the Neck position of 77BFP is F-spaced or Standar.

If is Standar.. i want to know if it looks perfectly "aligned" (sorry if this is not the Word or spell) with string?

Cheers

It's f-spaced. Both humbuckers are f-spaced.
Here's a shot of the string alignment from my BFP. You have to take into account some perspective though- the bridge humbucker actually aligns better than the neck one with the strings.

if i use a f-spaced humbucker on neck position, should i use on bridge position?i know that it is not necessery but i have bought a new tone zone f-spaced for brdg.pos., and i want to decide right pick-up for neck...

in addition i think of PafPro or AirNorton....or maybe a evolution??

nienturi,

im in the "same boat" as you...but i think i made my mind..im going for the PAF pro because its the original Jem pick up and i already have a BSB with evolutions..

althou everybodys is talking about how good the Air norton is ..and combine with the TZ, you get a killer sound..

but by looking the charts on the Dimarzio site i think i will like more the Paf pro than the AN.

Cheers

I had a TZ / PAF Pro combo in my USRG that sounded incredible, but I also like the TZ/AN sound I get in my RGT3120. Which is my main player.

And the dual PAF Pros in my BFP sound nothing like they did in the RGT3120- in the BFP they're much fatter and warmer, and I do love that sound as well.

They're all great combinations, and you really can't go wrong with any of them. The TZ/AN combo does have more 'character' I think, but I really love the sound the the PAF Pros and wouldn't swap them out of the Jem for anything.

i don get this... isnt the rg3120 a mohegany body?... so it should sound Fatter than the BFP (basswood)...with the same pups

another thing.. are the PAF pro "brighter" than the AN, right?

cheers

The RGT3120 that I have is a maple neck-through with mahogany 'wings'. The pickus are actually mounted to the maple neck mostly. It (with the PAF Pros) was a very snappy, almost stratty sounding guitar.

Honestly, the BFP sounds fatter and warmer than my PGM10th which is a solid mahogany body with dual ToneZones. I have no idea why my BFP sounds like that, but I love it. Warm, round tone. Not as fat as a Les Paul or anything, but definately warm and round.

Yes, the PAF Pro does have some more high end presence to my ears than an AN, but that doesn't imply it lacks the low end or mids of the AN.

Nienturi- try doing a forum search for "f-spaced" if you need some info.
