OK, so I'm working on a custom JEM here. *It has a flamed maple top. *What I want to know is if anyone will make me a picture of what it would look like all put together.

it has

JEM-style body
Amber finish over flamed maple top
black hardware
mirrored pickguard
black pickups
rosewood fretboard
flamed matching headstock

Why would you put a mirrored pickguard over flamed maple? I always wondered why anyone would consider covering such beautiful wood with a hunk o' plastic.

Unless it's clear and its only purpose is to protect that beautiful hunk o' wood. *

I'm using a pickguard because it's a top-routed body. *It used to be a RG-550

I know this isn't exactly what you wanted, but I spent too much time trying to make convincing looking wood that actually looked amber-ish, routing the lion's claw, and I didn't feel like tackling the hardware color change right now. I'm much better at modifying photos than making things from scratch, but there were no RG style amber flame top photos suitable for this photo that I could just blend in...
Anyhow, I think it looks good with the chrome. *
Can you tell I started with a DBK?

Wow! *that's awesome! *thank you so much. *If you have a chance, how would it look with a black or a pearloid pickguard. *And since you've worked on it- what looks good to you?

I also found a much better picture of the finish I'm using. *It's called Solar, and it's got more red in it. *as seen here

Thanks for the link- that helps me get a better idea of the color!
Unfortunately, I'm cleaning the new house we just bought this weekend, and then moving next weekend so I don't have a lot of time... perhaps someone else would like to put in your different pickguard ideas?
Anyhow, here's a version closer to that 'solar' finish...

Nice work guys. * But I want one of the chlorine blue guitars like the phil collins model. *That would have been a better blue jem than the pos they designed
