need help finding UVMC777 PARTS

I ordered a locking nut for an Ibanez 7 string and do not want to change the whole nut on my 1990 universe. I just need the locking parts. The ones for the K7 do not fit. They're a hair too wide. Anyone selling these original replacements? Thanks!

No doubt, he was attentive and prompt. I'm just worried these darn things don't fit, either.

Re: need help finding UVMC777 PARTS

I had to pull one off a new nut, I forgot I was down to one when you ordered.

If they don't fit you've got the wrong nut on it.

Don't forget the outer pads use the 1/2 thread bolts!

Re: need help finding UVMC777 PARTS

Rich, if THESE don't fit, I'll be ordering a nut from you and just keeping them. I gotta get this solved. Someone over on sevenstring.org had an issue with some of the cheap junk floating around for an RG of his and said the same thing: the pads were too big. I'm confident this is the original nut and these pads will be perfect (fingers crossed). Rich, I am a new stalker on your site and WILL be buying a guitar or 2 from you! Thanks again for the prompt and individually detailed attention you gave me today. A little customer service goes a long way in a world where THERE IS NONE!

Just doing my job.

Just to be positive [a hair late, because I just thought of it], you were trying to put them on the right way? If you put them on with the peaks lined up to each other they don't fit. The peaks have to line to the strings. They're wider than they are deep.

Re: need help finding UVMC777 PARTS

Sadly, I wish it were that easy. The peaks of the pads were lined with the strings, not to each other. They were off by so little, it made it that much more aggravating. The middle one can only fit one way, and that one didnt fit, either. I bet I could of milled a MM off the sides of them, but embarrassingly I used a hammer. Epic FAIL. Hence my order.

Hammers and Sawzall's! Best tools in my arsenal!! Guitars have no chance when you pull out the big guns!

Re: need help finding UVMC777 PARTS

This is the pad off my brand spanking new, 2010 Jem. It doesnt fit, by a hair. It goes on and off smoothly, and interchangeably with my ESP but will not fit on this nut.

This is the nut on the guitar. Everything, at least to me, appears original and as it should be and has the wear for a 21 year old guitar.
