Re: New 1200CA!

You know what's funny? Everybody or almost eventually gets a new JS in this forum and most of the time its the JS1000 or 1200 and they always show pictures of the same guitar over and over again....I NEVER GET TIRED OF THEM

I love guitars! Post a soundclip if you can

Man, you've had that a week already! What took you so long?

Don't tell me you had better things to do either!

Re: New 1200CA!

sorry for being off-topic:

rich- Since you have had many Ibanez's in your hands, is the JS's nut the same as any ibanez guitar or is it specific to the JS line since its a special neck?

Edit: I have to change mine and someone sold one from 'all guitar parts' and it didn't fit.

Re: New 1200CA!

There have been 4 derrivatives now, all proprietary to the JS.

Re: New 1200CA!

thanks for the reply!

Do you carry some in your inventory at any given time or do you order them when someone wants one?

Re: New 1200CA!

I included some gear (new pod 500 HD) in the pic to break things up a little, I know everyone has seen this guitar....

Neck is great, trem is really good. I need to get used to low action for bends, but for chords is great very comfortable and no buzz. Neck width is almost exact to my other main player guitar

I will post a closeup of the trem and another guitar (need to get my post count up).

Will post some audio as well but that might take me a little as I am tied up...

Re: New 1200CA!

How is the action? Can you measure it at the 12th fret so I can have an idea?

I manage to be able to set it up at 3.5mm with no buzz (but I have a very light touch)

Re: New 1200CA!

Just received my new JS 1200 as well with the original Edge.. I absolutely love it. After some minimal tweaking it stays in tune perfectly. Many thanks to your guide online Rich, helped me extremely in tweaking it the ways I wanted. Enjoy the guitar, it's stunning!

Re: New 1200CA!

Hey great guitar...I too also have a JS1200CA and it is my favorite guitar to play at the present time.

With respect to the action, I don't think your action is 2.5 mm (or 3.5 mm as indicated by another post). I don't think you are measuring the action properly. Measure it from the bottom of the string to the top of the fret (but not the fretboard). If I'm wrong, that is ridiculously high action...I'm not even sure if you could get that high especially at 3.5 mm).

The action on my JS is (on the low E) sitting at about 1.2 mm at the 12th fret and 2.0 mm at the 22nd fret, which I would say is more medium/low action (more medium than low) from my perspective. It's a bit lower on the high E side, about 1 mm at the 12th fret. That is about perfect for me.

Unless you specified that it was set at 1.5mm at the 22nd.
