New Build, New Swirl a 7

Had this body lying around for a while, Jaden was doing a blowout & it was only 20 quid more than buying a blank & making my own, so thought why not. Last 3 builds were all quilted maple so I thought it was about time to get back to real finishes.
Crappy washed out phone pic

Found a cheapish low pro7 on the bay the other day, now just need to buy some wood & make a neck

Is that using your OneShot colors again? I don;t know why - I just can't get OneShot to work for the life of me!!!!! Looks nice. I always enjoy watching your builds!

Hi Rodney, just posted in your thead over at projectguitar

Yes one shot again, but I think there are so many variables of temp, hard/soft water, borax, paint mix I don't think you help with the formula, but heres what I used today.
Swirl tank is a dustbin thats been sitting in the garage for a year with a box of borax 400g - just less than 1lbs? Paint - I pour about 1/4 inch into a plastic vending machine cup, to that I add a tiny bit of One shot reducer, maybe like 10 drops. From that Black first spreads the best, then the colours, yellow seems a bit thinner than the green & pink, but I'm not measuring. Pour the paint on, wait a couple of mins for them to spread, then swirl & dip

Unreal. Reminds me of PAW from vai's star spangled banner. Which is probably my fav PAW.

I love this swirl, I think that the yellow like you say is the thinnest and maybe needs to sit and evaporate off some of the solvent first?

Anyway... I think it's cool that we're getting some very cool swirlers here in the UK these days

That pink is awesome.
It looks to me more like a shake them a swirl.
You know when you're writing something and a friend shake the paper.
Still it's cool.

man, this is great, Andy's whole attitude is "throw it all in the mix and see what happens" and he gets results like these..
great stuff.

This swirl looks great, especially the colors.

But I would love to see a swirl job where the guitar has not been moved sideways when being pulled back from the water.

That's great looking, and what I find really amazing is that for once the front looks better than the back We've seen so many lately where the back is far nicer!

Like Wil said, she needs pyramids
