New electronics

Rightnow my jem is wired up with a pair of Evos, a dummy middle pickup, a single volume pot and a 3 way switch.

I just used a volume pot I had sitting around and the thing is really low quality, there is almost no taper whatsoever, and it makes the guitar sound really muddy and undefined.
I'd like to replace the electronics to something better, add a tone knob and a 5 way.

Do you guys have any reccomendations on what pots/caps/switches to use to get the most out of the guitar?

Re: New electronics

Just curious, but what happened to your original electronics?

Re: New electronics

500K audio taper pots and a megaswitch for coiltapping, etc. You really should read the sticky thread I posted about wiring resources...

It's kind of a frankenjem...BFP body, 550 neck with Evos and no middle pup. I bought it from a forum member but the wiring was all funky and the pots were scratchy when it got to me. So I tore everything out and put in a temporary volume pot/3 way.

It was only ever supposed to be temporary, I've just taken a little longer than planned getting the new stuff in.

Re: New electronics

Sounds like a very cool guitar. As mentioned above, there are some good topics on this in the Pickups and Wiring section.
