New guitars are more fun
Until of course buyers remorse and my lack of talent declare themselves...
Long time lurker who is drooling over the 30th anniversary JEM.
It's hard to take the plunge without putting my hands on one.
No Ibanez has had the magic of my first (16mm thin?) $500 RG of some sort back in college. Jewel blue.
Tastes and fingers change, I had to switch to lefty after a finger vs sharp object event. I'm pretty happy with my 655L from Rich. The guitar I reach for though is a JS2400, also from Rich.
After many ESP and a Jackson adventure, also EVH--Beautiful but the playability is not there for me. Fair enough as I am more collector than player lately. That needs to change!
I have the white monkey grip/gold hardware/vine JEM, not sure of model. I like the neck joint. Way too blingey. Thinking of selling it.
I really should go custon, with composite materials, but no patience or cash.
To that point, I think what is mostly special about the 30th JEMs is the price.
Anyone picked up a lefty? Opinions versus prestige models?
