New Project

Well a few months ago I posted for advice on the difference between necks on the jem 7V and the jem FP2. But, I was so mesmorised with all the advice and projects I found myself leaning towards a custom. I have never done one before, am completely clueless but am looking forward to learning a lot - I must be mad

I've tried to attach a photo of the first stage - hope I manage that OK.....

Re: New Project

Yes, it's an OOTS swirl. The photo doesn't do the colours justice as they are so vibrant (reds/yellows/oranges). Al has been fantastic with support and advice - I can't thank him enough. I hope I can finish the project eventually and do his work proud. I've gone for Evo pick-ups just like the FP2 and am waiting for a neck (vine inlay) from ET.

I've only got the body, pick-ups, strap, yellow volume/tone knobs and switch tip....nothing else yet, so open to any advice. I'm enjoying collecting the parts for now and will worry about putting it all together later. At the moment ignorance is bliss .... I'm sure once the enormity of the project dawns on me, that will soon change lol!

Re: New Project

That's the sticking point - Al is hopefully going to swirl it to match the body - but it depends on how long it takes to get here from Aus and whether he's still in his workshop.

I guess if all goes wrong, it might end up as a black headstock with some sort of yellow or orange decal/sticker/feature.

Really hoping for the swirl tho

Re: New Project

IMO, swirl guitars look better with black headstocks....Just my opinion of course.
