New/used JS2000 pricing?

Sucked back into the Ibanez realm.

I found a JS2000 that "new" in a shop. Still has cavity plastic. Plays great but has a 1/2" scratch on bottom and some fretwear from being in a shop for 8 years yes, 02 serial #.

Ideas on price?

I owned one of these in 04 but had to sell it from job loss. Would go well with my tremmed charvel.

Jeff

I don't know the price but isn't the JS1600 the 'actual' model for fixed bridge now? I gotta admit that the JS2000's color is gorgeous.

FXEdge Bridge is the best thing ever! Go for the 2000

Re: New/used JS2000 pricing?

I really think they are asking too much. It is really just a used guitar at this point, no matter how "new" they say it is.

I saw one on the bay that did not sell for $800. The shop had $999 on it and they had a $2400 list price. Per Ibanezrules, the list was only $1695.

I loved how it played. Just as I remember, big fan of the more strat like neck of the JS's

Why do you like that so much OC?? I never played one, but it looks sorta strange to me. I like the Gotoh hard tail a lot. My other (non-ibanez) fixed bridge is a tele with the modern bridge, and I really dig the feel of that too.

Interested in hearing about the feel ... feel exactly like an Edge trem?

Re: New/used JS2000 pricing?

The reason I love it is because it's a guitar that has no trem that stays one hundred percent in tune. Also you can change tuning one it and then still lock it down. My top two JSs that use are the JS1200 and the JS2000. Now, soundwise I upgraded my 2000 to PAF Joe Mo'Joe and that's a large part of why I love it too. But the reason I love the FXEdge is that you can have a tremless guitar that keep the tuning stability of a locking trem. Yes, it's more hassle to change strings, but you can play on it for an hour live and bend like crazy and never need to check tuning.

Hi Jeff

Almost want to guarantee you that you will have heck of a time unloading it if you don't like her. I assume most of JS buyers want a trem model.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. As long as you aren't in a big hurry, you should be able to move a JS2000. It's relaitvely rare these days, and pretty much the only way to get your hands on an FXEdge. I think there are more people now that are starting to appreciate the benefits of the FX than there were while the 2000 was in production. It's a small market (JS1600s move pretty slowly too), but it's there if you can wait.

Re: New/used JS2000 pricing?

I talked to the shop and he is going to get back to me. I basically told him that it is a used guitar and that I wanted to be around the $800 range tops.

Out of curiosity what happened with this?

Have been GASing for another JS for a while.....at the moment it's a toss up between trying to get my hands on a 2000 or going for one of Rich's 1600's....

Cheers

Davus, I am still waiting for them to reply again. I'm hoping it doesn't sell for x-mas and they give me a call. They weren't even offering a case with it cuz they said in 02 they didn't include cases which I know cant be true.

Jut as you say; my JS2000 came (new) with an Ibanez case, so that's a crappy excuse. Maybe one worth using to haggle down though...

Re: New/used JS2000 pricing?

my JS2000 has one poc - nothing to do after playing it !

I will keep it as far as possible

lots of my friends tell me it's a bigger champagne-bubble ! not a default !
