New/Used UVMC

Just got myself a UVMC (been waiting 10 effin years)!!

I bought it off ebay, the case is shot, but that's fine by me... the guitar has obviously been in storage for a while... has that stored scent, but other than a small ding on the front, a little pencil head spot on the clearcoat rubbed off on the side, some screw corrosion, and fretwear, it's in excellent condition. I just took pics and then took the whole thing apart to give it a good scrub down for that new guitar feel : D
Everything works like a champ on it too!
This is my fourth guitar purchase off ebay... I also bought my DBK and VWH from ebay as well, brand new... I've been lucky.
Here's a pic of my three favorites... I know most people would throw bricks at my other three guitars so I'll leave them out for now : )
Hopefully this pic works... if not, go to muh page:

<broke link doesn't work for some reason, so buh-bye>

I don't know what that alt p thing is so if it's not supposed to go there, disregard.

Congrats on your new MC!

I would love to have an MC too, but my time hasn't come yet...

Thanks : D

That's a before picture... about 10 minutes after I ripped it from the messed up case it was shipped in. It was VERY dirty... but now it's completely taken apart, except for the electronics and scattered about my apartment. If the guy took the time to clean it, he could have sold it for at least a few hundred more : )

Got a link? I wanna see : )
I know I don't have the best swirl out there... but up close after the cleaning I've given it so far, it looks 10 times better than the pics (Thank God).

That's awesome! What would you recommend for getting rust out of the screws, and cleaning the back of the neck with? It's dark with sweat no doubt... I was just wondering if I could get it lightened up a bit without sandpapering it to death. This is my first time taking a guitar apart completely.

Never Try lighting a candle while spraying your hair with hairspray with one of those beercan hats they wear filled with gasoline while your guitar is strapped on... the first 5 times... I just didn't learn...

I'd replace the screws, but, oil and a toothbrush will help. For the neck I use spit for almost everything. If you want a chemical, try naptha, works decent on maple.

Spit? Umm, maybe it's just me, but now I'm afraid to touch my guitars. Hehehehe...

Spit works like a champ on anything... I used spit and q-tips to clean out the trem cavity, got all the grime out of the corners. It looks like new : D
