New vine fingerboard has holes in it...

I recently bought a perloid and abalone inlaid rosewood scalloped fingerboard from ****.I believe it was made by ET guitars. It has 6 small holes 2 on the nut area..2 on the 8th fret and 2 just past the 24th fret position. These are on the outer edges...are these for screwing it down to something when positioning and sizing up for the neck blank..?
(can't link to a picture as this is my 1st post).

Many thanks
Martin

Did you contact ET Guitars about the issue?

Martin, the holes were for securing the board during manufacture. They are outside the normal fretboard area, and in the offcut that will be trimmed once its glued onto the neck.

If the frets are largish, say 6105 or bigger, you should not need to, just superglue in the end slots at most. Smaller tanged frets, well maybe. You'll be able to tell after the first couple!
