Smile NGD JEM 10th

Well I got it!
It is in better shape than I thought it would be.
It has just a few minor chips along the back bottom and the scratches Bob told me about are really hard to find, they are just in the clear coat, not through the paint, just a few.
The neck and middle pickup are missing a little chrome, they can be replaced if I care.
It is #125, a nice low number.
This is a really well done fret job, definitely not your run of the mill fret work .
The action is crazy low without buzzing.
I didn't think it could be this good!
The top four frets are not scalloped due to the binding.
It had a nice chrome block keeping me from pulling up on the trem, it is outa there!
I got her all dialed in and she is sweet as hell.
Take a look at my photobucket, I added a couple of bounus pics of something you may recognize.

Re: NGD JEM 10th

Congrats Sebastian.. .I've been looking for this thread all afternoon. Glad it turned out better that you thought. It's a beauty... did it turn out to be heavy? Loving the one in the case on your photobucket page too... got to start me a Jem collection someday.

Re: NGD JEM 10th

It is just a little more weight than my JEM7WH, not much.
The glass case has the prototype in it! I saw it at a traveling guitar museum in Orlando at the Science Museum. It is going to be their until the end of November or December???

Re: NGD JEM 10th

I never thought I'd own one.
I kept thing, "No way I'm spending $4000 - $6000 on a guitar".
I didn't!!!
My limit is $2000 per guitar max, if it cost me more than that, I don't need it.

I remember seeing something about that showing at the science center. Were there any other cool guitars there? So that is one of the original prototypes from the 1985 era? Very cool... I love that color and the pink also... Like the one you are selling. Most of the gaudy-ness of the 80ís looks cheesy now but the Jem and 550 are still rocking the colors in style.

Re: NGD JEM 10th

They have a lot of cool guitars at the show. They also have amps with the guts removed and LCD TVs inside of them playing clips of famous guitar plays jamm'n out, including Mr. Vai.
There is a small auditorium that musical jam/seminars are put on by some semi-famous people and interesting nobodies. I saw a walk through rock history type thing and they had an eight or twelve year old kid playing the drums for them. There is a lot of cool stuff to look at, drop in if you're local.

Re: NGD JEM 10th

My favorite Ibanez neck is the Wizard II on my S540LTD.
All the Ibanez necks are so close except the JS, I can play any of them just fine.
