NGD: JS2K Sample

Got home after travel for work to be welcomed by a JS2K I got off Reverb.

Guitar is awesome and Rich's Silver package is still holding up after going through two (2) previous owners on its way to me.

Guitar was intune right out of the case.

Lacks COA, but it has the correct case and blanket - totally loving this guitar!!!

Chromeboy and JS1200 now have new company in the Ibanez JS family.
FireEagle and OCDemon like this.

I hope you didn't pay 4K with that big chunk of wood being messed up from the headstock.

Re: NGD: JS2K Sample

First off- N I C E!!!!!! A visual treat, minus the ding in the nose!
Secondly - In the Reverb ad description, the seller says "this particular guitar is unnumbered and minus a serial# on the headstock or the neck heel."
However, in the Reverb photos you can see there is something on the neckplate,
and in Rich's IBANEZ RULES pics, it is clear that there is a number on the plate, and obvious that it is the same guitar, as well.
My curiosity is piqued and I wonder why the listing was as it was, in regards to the plate #?
Did you get a reason for that from the seller?
Or was this covered somewhere and I simply missed that info?

I had gotten additional pics from the seller prior to closing the transaction, and with Rich's feedback, done deal.

Re: NGD: JS2K Sample

Full disclosure, I sold the guitar to scarello. What I meant was that on the neck itself at the heel there are no stamps. Anyone can change out a heel plate, but that neck doesn't have any form of serial number on it anywhere. It was just another thing that made the guitar stand out as a sample vs production model.

Re: NGD: JS2K Sample

Most clear body guitars do not have any heel stamps by design. Although I had a couple JEM20's and JS2K's that did it was only the model stamp and no inspectors markings, but the majority are not stamped. That there is no edition number is what defines it as a sample.
