NGD lost in the mail

Was hoping to post a NGD by now but turning into a horror story. Bought an '87 JEM 7RB off Reverb on the 21st. Seller charged $80 then shipped it USPS Parcel Post. Luckily paid with PayPal. Last known whereabouts (tracking update was Wednesday the 1st in Jersey City, NJ (coming from Connecticut). If anyone over that way sees a 7RB with original pink lined case on the side of the road let me know. Fingers are still crossed it arrives and in only 1 piece.

Parcel Post for 80 bucks, huh? Great seller.

Hope it gets to you OK, that's a cool axe.

The USPS tracking system isn't very accurate. I've had items labeled as delivered and then 3 days later they actually show up. If you bring your tracking information to your local USPS they can look deeper into where it actually is, and a box that size isn't easy to miss. Give them a try before giving up on the package.

Good luck with that... can't believe I missed a Jem 7 RB on reverb, in my home state...

Re: NGD lost in the mail

I've had over 200 guitars delivered to me in Canada via USPS with maybe 1 or 2 small issues that were quickly resolved. I don't think it's really fair to blame USPS.

UPS actually just flat out destroyed a guitar we shipped to a customer, but they did comp us immediately for it.

Anyways, hopefully your seller paid for insurance.

Happened to me before as well. Ordered some gear from California and the stuff was showing in San Diego for days, never updating and literally after 5 days of showing California, I came home and the note was on my door to pick up and sign for at my local USPS. It has to be their tracking system that civilians have access to. Must be buggy...hoping your guitar shows up in good shape.

Re: NGD lost in the mail

Finally today, day 11 after it was shipped, it's here in town and out for delivery. Can't wait to see what the box looks like. Unfortunately since it's been in the cold for almost 2 weeks, I'll have to give it a good day to warm up before I open it. Hopefully it's true when they say good things come to those who wait. If all goes well, I'll get a NGD thread after it's all cleaned, polished, and set-up.

Holy smokes. Hope the guitar is alright. I remember Rich had a JS with a snapped off headstock but I think that was UPS. Luckily mine arrived ok. At least the box anyways.
