NGD: My First Jem

Finally have bought my first Jem. After a few years of financial turmoil and moving across the country 2x, I have managed to save up for an affordable Jem. The neck is a little thinner than the VWH, but playability and tone are to par. I used to hate the finish on these DBK's, but rather have taking a liking to it. Maybe Im biased to being an owner of one. Guitar is barely touched, the trem bar is still tight in the arm holder and flutters easily. Plastic cover is still on the jack plate on the back and the input jack is tight as hell when plugging in. Seems this guitar was really never played at all. Neck finish is flawless and has a brand new appearance. Came with super dirty strings and frets were covered in corrosion. Once cleaned up, theres no evidence of any fret ware.Really impressed with the factory finish on the fret ends. The ends are nicely rolled and the action can be set incredibly low.Breeds sound good through speakers and amp, but not so good through my guitar port and headphones. My Jem/UV collection has begun and now my UV has a friend.

Congrats on the new guitar! I've always liked the finish on the DBKs. Your guitar seems to be in excellent shape, and it's a perfect match to your UV.

Congrats! This Jem has always had a place for me and I'm not sure why. Still on the prowl for my first Jem too.

Aaahhh, the STUCCO jem. Does that not feel weird on your forearm when you're playing it?

The "stucco Jem" is the 90th HAM--this is the melted finish.

Re: NGD: My First Jem

I havent noticed the finish to feel annoying in any way. This guitar is actually very light and comfortable to play.
