Smile NGD UV7BKMC

This guitar is an amalgamation of Ibanez parts.
The Neck plate dates the guitar as a 1990.
Iíve seen this guitar out there over the years and finally got a chance to own it.

It a UV7BK Green Dot that has a real Ibanez MC Pyramid neck on it.

Iím trying to decide what to do with it.
I have an Area 51 aftermarket rear route Universe body.
Iím toying around with the idea of having Livewire Guitars swirl the body in a UVMCRE style swirl.
Then slap that neck on it and basically have a Universe Multicolor Reissue.
Another option would be to leave the neck and body together and add some powder coated hardware.
Or, I could just leave it like it is.

Swirl the new body and make it a PAW tribute!

Re: NGD UV7BKMC

I swirled mine.

I bought a UV77MC with a replacement body that was junk. So, I bought a new body from Area 51 and sent it to LiveWire to be swirled. He did an excellent job. If you do decide to go the route, I would recommend getting the headstock painted as well, otherwise it looks pretty dull next to the fluorescent body.

Agree, but I would do the reverse of that.

Really like the guitar, Sebastian!

Re: NGD UV7BKMC

If I put the neck on a swirled body, I may have a plan for the body.

I was thinking of putting a PWH neck I have on it.
Then route a long grip in it and make it a 7 string JEM PBK with white pups and knobs.
I also have a BWB UV pickguard sitting in a box with nothing to do.

Well let's see it! You could borrow them off your LNG for a minute.

I say you leave the guitar as is. It's pretty unique as is and even if you have a body swirled, it's not going to look like an ATD (or even an MKR) guitar. Michael's swirls have their own style.

My opinion about what you should do with your PWH neck:

Like that but with direct mounts?

This did cross my mind a few times.

Re: NGD UV7BKMC

Interesting...where would you get an S body to fit a square heel, though?

I'd get one made or buy another 5407 and covert things to fit.
