i was just checking some prices on a jem77v. it couldnt have been a year ago i was gonna buy a new one for $1800 i think from musicansfriend. now they've gone up $700 smackaroos. holy smokes. 25 hundred for a basswood guitar, jesshh...lol i'll have another one built by et guitars.

other than greed, any reason why the inflation in price? steve threaten to drop the line...lol

I don't know.... in the early 80's, no one in their right mind would pay that much for a Japanese guitar!

If it was $1800 it was probably a scratch -n- dent one. Back in 2004 I bought a 7V from there for $1900.

It's not like type of body wood on a painted guitar makes a big difference in the price. If it was alder or basswood, it would be about the same price.

This.

There is so very little difference in the price of a slab of basswood or mahogany or alder for a guitar body it's incredible that people think of price differences truly being attributable to this.

The difference in price for a unfinished 2 piece body that's basswood or alder (no fancy grain lines) is usually around $25-$40.

Heh, the way some folks feel about basswood around there, maybe we should just call it "bastard wood".

bought an used 77v for 900€ two weeks ago. It's MINT! I wonder if the former owner ever used it. I'm lucky!
